Project 3. Evaluating the surfing economy on the Gold Coast

The Griffith Centre for Coastal Management, Wayne ‘Rabbit’ Bartholomew, the Hon Margaret May MP Federal Member for McPherson and John Presland from the Gold Coast & Region Area Consultative Committee Inc. are currently scoping a project that will investigate the total economic value of surfing to the Gold Coast. This project builds on existing work Australian National University and Griffith University research that investigated the value of recreational surfing to the Gold Coast.

What can you do:

This project requires funding and research support.

1. We would like to hear from you if you or your organisation is involved in the surfing industry on the Gold Cost.
2. We would like to hear from you if you are interested in providing financial or in-kind support to this project.
3. We would like to hear from you if you are interested in being part of the research team for this project.
