Kirra Point Committee

The Kirra Point Committee (KPC) was formed late in 2007 and is comprised of a cross section of the Gold Coast surfing and business community. The goal of the KPC is restore Kirra to its former glory as a world class surfing destination without compromising coastal security.

The KPC shares the belief that understanding the full socio-economic value of surfing and the value of the surf industry to the Gold Coast is vital to all levels of government.

Chairman of the committee, Mr. Neil Lazarow says “The issues are complex and cross state borders and as such require action form all levels of government with the Gold Coast City Council involvement setting a good lead for other stakeholders”. The KPC has sought and received a commitment from Local, State and Federal politicians to help find a solution to this important issue.
