Jann Stuckey MP

Jann Stuckey MP, Member for Currumbin has been calling on the Queensland State Government to look into the operation of the Tweed River Entrance Sand Bypass Project (TRESBP) because the current contract has allowed an oversupply of sand which has turned our southern beaches into deserts and smothered Kirra Reef.

No less than 25 times during the past 5 years Jann has raised her concerns about the negative effects of the sand bypass in the Parliament and has written countless media releases.

Jann has called for better management of the project, flexibility in the grid area where sand is dumped, an audit of monitoring procedures and an overall review.

Presently, Jann has sought under the Freedom of Information Act, a copy of the contract between Queensland and New South Wales together with any Environmental Management Plans.
