Coastwatch

Coastwatch is a coastal leisure information service founded in 1989 by Ken Brown, or Brownie as he has become widely known. A long time surfer and marlin fishing charter skipper, from 1989 until 2005 Brownie used his knowledge and experience to provide credible coastal and surf information in his Coastwatch Reports in 7 News every Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. From 1994 until mid 1999 he produced almost 300 half hour shows called Brownies Coastwatch and captured a comprehensive slice of Queensland surfing history during that 5 year period. Some of this historic video can be seen on the Coastwatch web site, http://www.coastwatch.com.au

Coastwatch is proud to support the effort to bring quality back waves at Kirra and if you need a reminder of what we’ve lost, follow this link and look at the video called Final Day 94 Kirra Pro. http://www.coastwatch.com.au/SurfBeach/SurfingVideo-632
